Who is & was SIL?
Silvia Cecelia Waals (Zomers)
Before I started to explore in art I worked full time at my parents stores.
After getting married with children, and moving countries I thought I could have a hobby or two.
I started to get an interest into beads and jewelry making, and found out there is a lot to learn in this field. I learned both metal clay and traditional metal smiting.

My interest was more going to Metal Clay. And got soon after certified with Art Clay Silver and became a senior instructor with them in 2007. Well next thing that peaked my interest is turning rocks into beautiful cabochon. I had to complete my circle in the jewelry and fell in love with opals of all part of the world and "yes" cutting them to. Ethiopian opals are my rock of choice for now, but never know, thing can changes...
Have all this knowledge I started to dream of having my own studio.

Now that that came true, I opened my doors of Sils Art Studio in Sarasota Florida where the sun always shines, and makes us feel good.
I have studied with numerous master teachers to name a few: Michael Boyd, Holly Gage, Gordon Uyerhara, Wanneree Tanner, Celie Fago, Amy Roper Lyons and the list goes on.
Certified Lapidarian with a deep appreciation for opals of all sorts.
I was introduced to Aura Soma through a friend and colleague and once I began using the system myself I knew it was something special. I am naturally drawn to color so the collaboration was inevitable. I love working with clients to help them find new guidance and answers for their life-path. Using the colors as a guide comes natural to me. I became certified as an Aura Soma Practitioner in 2015.
My interest for now is setting stone and cabochons into pieces of wearable art. mostly necklace and pendants, in the creations that I make there is a strong flow of the female body or the art in facial expressions. Love to put some diamonds into my creations to add pizazze.
At the healing aspects of the stones and Interact with the stone, so it can tell you of what to become...?
It is going to be a surprise, what will I do today?
What ever it might be, it is all good?
As long as I'm creating, I'm alive...
Art, not just a hobby, but a way of life.
